Posted November 7, 2016. My Ride. It would seem to me that putting a big bore kit made for the MX model on the X model would have some issues. First, the compression ratio is lower on the X to make the power more mellow and tractable. Secondly, the exhaust port was slightly raised.

The alternative is a new liner at $109 but this depends on the original piston being in good shape and needing just a set of new rings. However the cost of fitting the new sleeve and rebore need to be taken into account. This would still be my preferred option as Thumper originally supplied the wrong size liner.
