Turns your guaranteed habitable worlds into primitive civilizations? I love it. The pop growth speed reduction is brutal, but specialist output bonus and starting out with two nearby planets with their own pops (plus no apparent restrictions on those pops being specialists) sounds like it might be a solid boost in the …This is time to research early military techs for the early military tradition. Shields are your best defense on the attack- regenerating between battles to push to the enemy's shipyard starbase- but alien critter techs are extremely strong early-game. It is developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive. This community wiki's goal is to be a repository of Stellaris related knowledge, useful for both new and experienced players and for modders. As a gestalt, you are limited to bio-ascension and cybernetic ascension, but as a lithoid-necrophage your pop-assembly is terrible and not really worth the investment for a build the relies on steamrolling in the early game. Instead of an ascension tradition, consider focusing more on Become the Crisis and a different econ tradition tree.Although they're difficult to optimize, Necrophage Hive Minds are really rewarding IMO. You start with Syncronicity for getting unity from necrophaging pops, and get yuge early on without incurring the wrath a Devouring Swarm would. Alternately, Subterranean Lithoids are fun, either as gestalts or normal empires.Another one of my recent builds, Necrophage terravore. The -20% mineral and energy gain of this wargoal paired with the ability to steal enemy pops can set a Empire back decades while boosting you’re own population is ridiculous. A necrophage refers to an organism that feeds off of decomposing animal biomass. Vultures and maggots are necrophages. Humans are omnivores. Humans (usually) don't eat rotting meat. They combine total war CB with the ability to assimilate conquered pops rather than kill them off like other genocidal civics. Fanatic Purifier Necrophage seems to beat them now. Points in favor of FP Necrophage: For usual (non-genocidal) necrophage it's must - you have rapid breeding slave race that work as necrophytes. But Terravores is Lithoid version of Devouring Swarm, so it can only purge xenos. Workaround - I keep a few 1-planet empires inside my border and periodically use Raiding bombardment on them.It can be, thanks to how Stellaris favors economies of scale and how the necrophage-hive mind has to think about the resource economy. Stellaris's current model heavily rewards hyper-specializing planets, the sooner the better, and the crux of phototropic's economic significance is it's ability to keep an empire from needing to split an early world into a farming world. That makes it so that you don't want to have necrophage overpopulation, because it will tank the happiness of the pops, lowering stability and productivity; and also incurring in the risk of ... I do have quite some experience in Stellaris, but this is the first time I approach this kind of setup...Necro-hives (non-genocidal) are a tricky war build where you should take catalytic converter and balance a livestock food economy versus pop conversion and early war. Very good for learning how to play with low pop growth, and the power of hive-mind Unyielding starbases, as you can't pop-bloom but can have a massive early-game military advantage.Started Necrophage play. Now I not only need to micromanage em in like 2250 already, but it is even more disturbing than before : now I need to check all my planets, see if there are any onoccupied specialist jobs that I need - and then click through entire resettlement UI to find any other planet, where a member of my primary species is …The Necrophage Necrophages are best played as aggressive expansionists. They have a focus on expanding easily and cheaply, converting slain enemies and pacified villages to food production, tech that lowers building and unit costs, and units that attack directly and inflate their numbers. Think of them as Endless Legend's zerg race.Gospel of the Masses, Free Traders, Naval Contractors, Franchising. Those are the strongest Corporate Civics. Private Prospectors is also really strong at the start of the game, if you're producing enough Unity to reform your government after 20 years and replace it. Subversive Cults are the most fun. 13. I started with a necrophage/lithoid purifier empire. Yeah, I know I have a -100% growth rate, but with fan xenophobic, expansion traditions and techs, I managed to rebound to 40%. Digging out the lithoid monoliths and purging the natives on guaranteed habitable planets bridged the early pop growth gap. There's 2 ways to do traits. 1. Max the number of points on each trait. Use high cost giving negative traits that don't hurt you too bad, and load the points onto the other positive traits. 2. Minimise negative traits and have lots of positive 1 point traits as you get tech that gives more mod points.I haven't played Stellaris in over a year, and I'm playing with Necrophage for the first time. I've looked at other guides, and some mention that the prepatent species is enslaved by default, but that only happens if I use Slaver Guilds.
