On mine it is the secondary. If you pull the belt cover off and pull the belt, you can grab the secondary by hand. Rotate it hard one way, then the other, you will hear the clunking noise. I put a clutch kit in with a stiffer secondary spring, and that helped considerably.One an 012 and one an 013. When you start the engine and then put the transmission in HI or Low range, there is a sharp lag like clunk when you start to accelerate from a dead start.
